Five Senses founder, Dean Gallagher, has had a lifelong passion for delicious specialty coffee, people and sustainability. Since its inception, the company has striven to be a force for good, reaching beyond those in the speciality coffee supply chain.
With an unwavering desire to make a positive impact, Dean’s personal desires became company foundations. Whether at origin, local projects or international certifications, our motivation to ‘do good’ is cultivated throughout all aspects of our business.
Recognised as the highest standard for social corporate responsibility, our B Corp certification acknowledges the depth of our desire to use business for good. As part of this global movement, we build trust with suppliers, communities and consumers believing the impact we make must produce valuable social and environmental change. Our certification continually undergoes a holistic review as we push for greater beneficial outcomes.
Birthed out of an intimate knowledge of the challenges at origin and a desire to create strong communities for all those we’re involved with, Five Senses’ driving purpose is to Impact People Positively through coffee. Internally referred to as our IPP projects, we always stay alert to partnerships that enable the equipping of people in their local environment. It’s our vision to nurture every set of hands in the journey of specialty coffee, from source to destination.
In recent years, we have focused our efforts towards a more sustainable business model that is honest to our people and our planet. We are committed to having a voice
and a platform toward climate action and we will continue to move toward the restoration
of our earth. We are incredibly proud to officially be a Carbon Neutral company!
Reconciliation Action Plan
As a tangible way of recognising and respecting the Traditional Custodians of the land on which Five Senses is located, we have an active plan for reconciliation. Our company has joined a network of more than 1,100 corporate, government, and not-for-profit organisations that have made a formal commitment to reconciliation through the RAP program. After initiating our Reflect document, we are continually reviewing our business in the areas of Indigenous Relationship, Respect, Opportunities and Governance.
