We're beyond excited to share some massive news: the very first Five Senses café is opening its doors in Petersham, New South Wales! Welcome to Five Senses Espresso – a beautiful, light-filled espresso bar designed for our community to come together over exceptional coffee, thoughtful conversations, and a whole lot of good vibes.
It all started when we began searching for a new home for our Sydney Barista Academy – and stumbled across the perfect space in Petersham. As luck would have it, it already had a charming little café attached. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to bring our own coffee vision to life, and just like that, Five Senses Espresso was born.
Tucked away in a chic little courtyard on New Canterbury Road, Five Senses Espresso will open its doors from Monday 17 November, serving up delicious coffee and fresh pastries to the good people of Petersham and beyond. While there are plenty of cafés nearby, we saw an opportunity to bring truly exceptional specialty coffee to the commuity – a space where craftsmanship, care and connection shine through in every cup.
With a clean, Scandinavian-inspired design, our café features natural wood textures, minimal styling and soft natural light that spills across the space. Whether you're catching up with friends, taking a quite moment to yourself or setting up for some mobile work, it's a calm and welcoming spot to enjoy great coffee. If you're after a bite to eat, you'll find a concise yet delicious grab-and-go menu featuring sweet and savoury pastries from our friends at Organic Bread Bar. But of course, the real star of the show is the coffee – crafted with care on high-end espresso equipment and showcasing our signature Dark Horse blend alongside unique, character-driven limited release coffees. And for those wanting to take their favourite beans home, we'll also have a curated selection of retail coffees, including 100g tins of our Special Release offerings.
Connected to the espresso bar is our Five Senses Barista Academy, continuing our mission to impact people positively through specialty coffee. Here, we'll be hosting our Curated Cuppings and a range of professional training sessions designed to support and grow our coffee community. It's a space for both coffee enthusiasts and professionals alike, where education, hospitality and connection all come together under one roof.
To mark the occasion, we're throwing an exclusive FREE COFFEE DAY on Friday 28 November. Pop in, say hello, and grab a brew on us – we'll even be showcasing some rare and exclusive coffees to celebrate our opening week in true Five Senses style.
