With years of experience in the hospitality industry, and a flair for all things baking, owner and head baker Livia opened Fond 18 months ago and hasn’t looked back!

When you walk into the space, your eyes are instantly pulled to the spashes of vibrant colours throughout the enormous array of Asian-inspired pastries and cakes. Think black sesame, miso caramel, pandan kaya, matcha macadamia, and many more interesting flavour combos! Once you're able to snap out of the food induced hypnosis, you're welcomed by the loveliest group of people who are ready to spread the love that is put into all their products. Born from a desire to bring something different to the area, Fond hopes to create something exciting yet familiar, serving the community through cakes, coffee, and comfort.
Beyond food, Fond's matcha has earned a loyal following. You'll see pops of green throughout the shop, from matcha infused pastry classics to the continually rotating list of matcha based signature drinks. Then there's ube, Fond's most eye-catching signature. With its soft violet hue and naturally sweet, nutty profile, the ube latte sits comfortably between indulgence and restraint.

What really sets Fond apart is their ability to blend these new age flavours with specialty coffee to create a truly unique product. New combinations like the raspberry rose latte find the balance of sweetness without overriding the flavour of the coffee. However, if you ask nicely, the team are more than happy to make any drink dirty by throwing a shot of coffee in! Five Senses Coffee's Dark Horse blend is the staple of all things coffee here, featured throughout the signature drinks menu as well as all milk-based coffees. They also pour an interesting range of espresso and filter single origins and jump at the chance to create some incredible filter experiences utilising Clever Drippers.
