Since taking over Merchant and Maker in Dunsborough in 2018, owners Anna and Steve Momsen have cemented themselves as a main attraction of this beautiful seaside town. Their extensive range of local produce and fresh, ready-made meals have been a hit for years. No to be outdone by the food, the coffee program is as featured as any you’ll find Australia-wide! Two 3-group Synesso MVP Hydras, an Ubermilk and a Perfect Moose milk steamer dishes out our Hi-Fidelity blend, providing both excellence and volume.
A second venue was always on the cards, however Anna and Steve would not jump at just any opportunity that came along – it had to feel right. When an opportunity appeared in 2020 to take over the previously-named ‘Mono’ in Busselton, it was a no-brainer to Steve and they jumped on the location!
“We needed a space that people would just fall in love with. A nice quiet courtyard in an otherwise bustling town on a busy street. To us it was the perfect little hide-away where customers were free to spend some time, and would be sure to come back.”
Situated down a quiet laneway on the main-street in Busselton, this cafe certainly hits the mark! Featuring enough greenery to be considered a jungle, and enough books to be called a library, it’s clear that this is a space made to be enjoyed. This cafe is coffee focused with a Synesso MVP Hydra, an Ubermilk, and an exciting filter coffee programme to boot. Streamlined and perfect for pairing with a brew, the food options feature cinnamon scrolls and bread baked on site daily, as well as a cabernet full of fresh-made salads.
So next time you take a trip to this beautiful region of Western Australia, be sure to keep an eye out. You may need to go searching, but the hunt will be rewarded with some of the tastiest coffee found anywhere in Aus!
