Peninsula Farm Café is stunning and offers a unique experience to enjoy gorgeous riverfront views alongside elevated breakfast and lunch classics and coffee on the banks of the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River). Situated among one of Perth’s earliest colonial residences, new owners Danny and Tania Taylor (who you might know as founders of the award-winning Bodhi Spa group), have taken over and reinvigorated the space to compliment the picturesque nature surrounds.

Whether you’re perched on the open deck enjoying a delicious cuppa or sat on a picnic blanket amongst the expansive lawns, the lookout over the lush green lawns to the Maylands Peninsula is truly a sight to see. The café is located right beside the heritage listed Tranby House – one of the oldest surviving residences in the metro area having been built back in 1839. It can be toured on Saturdays for a deeper understanding of the historic features and archives of the monumental building.

The café features a crisp white and wood interior, and plenty of outdoor seating beneath the huge old gum tree. It is the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a cuppa, or something tasty to eat. With a vision to bring together sustainable, seasonal and local produce to the table, they have planted herb gardens featuring native herbs to pepper onto many of the menu items. I can personally attest to the deliciousness of the food with the baked eggs being my favourite so far!

“Using organic, seasonal and sustainable local produce, we’ve crafted a menu of mindfully good food & delicious coffee. We are proud to showcase the delights of local artisans and producers, and seasonal ingredients, to bring delicious wholesome food to your plate – in this incredibly beautiful setting. We offer healthful food that looks incredible, tastes amazing, and leaves us feeling happy, all with tranquil views of the river.” – Tania Taylor

The café was designed with families in mind with a great play area with plenty of toys and a fostering for imagination with little ones running their own café in a little farm café cubby. With a kids menu in tow, this farm café is a place for all, even furry companions!
