Five Senses Coffee is looking for a highly skilled Barista Trainer to join our team from Melbourne in a permanent Full-Time position. Located at our fully equipped barista academy in Rosslyn Street, West Melbourne, the role is to provide café owners, their baristas and the general public with expert training, knowledge and skills so they can make exceptional coffee.

We’ve focused on exceptional quality of coffee, top notch equipment and an overflow of coffee specialist knowledge through our training Academies and hospo-veteran Account Managers. The Role:

  • Full Time
  • Can start anytime from mid-November onward
  • Based out of our Barista Academy in West Melbourne

What we need you to do:

  • Teach our detailed training curriculum to students looking to go to the next level
  • Manage class scheduling and booking enquiry’s
  • Maintain the Barista Academy space so its ready to brew at all times
  • Be active in barista competitions or events

What we need you to have:

  • We need a barista trainer who is knowledgeable in all aspects of espresso preparation, milk steaming, manual brewing and the beverage building processes.
  • Has a clear understanding of the coffee supply chain and how coffee gets from farm to cup.
  • Someone who is eager to share their wealth of knowledge and experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have worked as a barista in a variety of venues for at least 4 years and be comfortable smashing high quality latte art (hearts, rosettas, swans, maybe a pony, everyone loves ponies) and is happy to share them on social media.
  • A customer focussed approach.
  • Great time management and hustle skills.

In order to be successful in the role you will need to be self-motivated, seek new approaches to coffee preparation and are willing to be an active friendly face in the coffee community. You will also have good computer skills, be social media savvy and can communicate effectively across multiple platforms.
